Goodbye 2019 CPI program

The 2019 CPI Programs have successfully concluded. This road map takes a look at the events from the start to the end of this year's CPI Program. Even though the program lasted for only a few months, we hope that it will aid in the participants' self-development and become an unforgettable memory for them.

01. Selection of Participants for 2019 CPI Program

Participating in this year’s project are 14 organization across Korea, which undertook their own applicant selection. Overall, the project had 60 participants from 26 countries.

02. 2019 CPI Orientation in Jeonju

The 2019 CPI Program’s first official event was a welcoming event for all the participants of this year’s program. The five-month program opened with a two-day stay (July 18–19) in Jeonju, North Jeolla Province.

03. Korean Language class

Seoul National University and other specialized language training institutes across Korea held Korean language class for the participants. Participants earnestly studied the language to the point where some of them continued their Korean lessons even after returning to their home country.

04. Korean Cultural Experiences

During their five-month stay, participants also had the opportunity to visit cultural sites and experience Korea’s traditional and modern culture to foster their knowledge and appreciation for Korea.

05. Midterm and Long-Term Cooperative Projects

Midterm and long-term cooperative projects are follow-up projects that were first implemented in the previous year, which involve participating institutions inviting previous participants to Korea once again for new projects.

For this year’s project, the Chungbuk People’s Art Federation invited the Mongolian alumni for a performance. We hope that these networking efforts will continue to create new opportunities for cooperation in the future.

06. CPI Follow-Up Workshops

The Follow-Up Workshop, this year’s newest addition to the CPI Program, allows participants to apply for a Korean expert to visit their home country and hold a joint workshop about their field.

Two participants from Sri Lanka and Uzbekistan were chosen for this year’s Follow-Up Workshop, resulting in workshops about traditional music and libraries in their respective countries.

07. Post-evaluation survey

The post-evaluation survey, which is introduced this year, conducted a survey for the CPI Program participants and host institutes from two and five years ago. The evaluation results will be used as the basis for the continuation and expansion of the CPI program.

08. Final Presentation

All the participants’ presentations of training results, manifested in various forms such as performances and academic presentations, represent the culmination of their achievements during the past five months. This presentation is one of the most important events of the CPI Program.

09. CPI Farewell Ceremony in Seoul

CPI Farewell Ceremony, the program’s last official event, is a chance for the participants to come together and share their achievements for the last time.

Held in Seoul on November 15, this year’s Farewell Ceremony included a fun program including a non-verbal musical, hanbok experience, special performances, and the presentation of the host institutes’ and participants’ achievements.

We thank those who participated and provided assistance to this year’s CPI Program once again and look forward to creating good programs for next year’s international participants as well. Thank you.
