Cultural Partnership Initiative Launches
a New Follow-Up Support Program.

Participants in the orientation for cultural partners

KOFICE, the CPI Secretariat, launches a new follow-up support program for former participants in the CPI program, in the aim of promoting succeeding activities of the participants and thus enhancing more active cultural exchange and collaboration between Korea and corresponding countries.

The ‘CPI Follow-up Workshop Support’ program will open a call for CPI participants from 2005 to 2018. Those who want to invite Korean professional(s) to their countries and organize workshop programs with their colleagues can apply for the program with submission of required documents, including application form, detailed workshop plan and so on.

Last year, the CPI Secretariat started another program ‘CPI Collaboration Support’ which was designed to support mid- to long-term collaboration projects between CPI organizations and participants. Through the open call, the Chungbuk People’s Art Federation was selected with the project ‘Together Further’. They invited 8 participants from Mongolia, Vietnam and Azerbaijan from 2013 to 2017, and organized creative workshops which delivered outputs including a music book, an album of traditional world music and joint performances with the participants from 2018, as well as the Cheongju Korean Music Orchestra.

After the project, they said it was great to find out all the former participants had improved their skills and it was the opportunity to realize how important and necessary to continue to share, exchange and communicate with traditional music of each country.

The ‘CPI Follow-up Workshop Support’ program is only open to the former participants who work in the field of culture, while the ‘CPI Collaboration Support’ program only to organizations.

The CPI Secretariat will open the call for these two support programs ‘CPI Collaboration Support’ and ‘CPI Follow-up Support’. More details about the programs will be revealed on the websites of KOFICE (http://kofice.or.kr) and CPI Facebook page(www.facebook.com/culturefriends).
