2018 CPI Farewell Party
Good bye Korea, Good bye CPI
2018 CPI program, which was hosted by Korean Foundation for International Cultural Exchange (KOFICE) to enhance the capacity of cultural experts around the world and build a global cultural network, was completed with the farewell party held at the Korea House on November 22.
Sixty-three CPI participants from 25 countries who demonstrated the growth in their competence during the five-month training period presented their achievements on the stage at the folk theater in the Korea House. They applauded the efforts and accomplishments of their fellow participants.
CPI participants of Chungnam arts and Culture Foundation and the Chungbuk People's Art Federation unveiled pieces that they created through collaboration with Korean musicians. Pich Sopheavy, a CPI participant of SIDance, offered her solo performance. The party was also enriched by traditional dance performance of Mongolian CPI participants of Trust Dance Theatre, and achievements presentations by CPI partners of Guro Cultural Foundation, JATURI performers community and Korea Cultural Heritage Foundation.
KOFICE President Yongrak Kim expressed his wish that valuable experiences all CPI participants had in Korea would be a cornerstone for their lives and careers. Saksom Panthong, a Thai CPI participants of Andong Festival Tourism Foundation, thanked Korea for providing him with training through on-site explorations and revealed his plan to actively continue cultural and artistic activities in his country.
Since turning out the first CPI participants in 2005, the CPI program has been held for the last 14 years, providing training to 1,150 CPI participants from 105 countries. The 2018 CPI participants are also expected to serve as bridges for exchange between Korea and their countries in various cultural fields.
