Please share if there were some memorable episodes, or if ICHCAP have any important event ahead.

Everyone is so close and without any conflict, all are trying to enjoy altogether. We participated diverse forums, field schools, and excursion. Among them, field visit to Busan might be the most memorable event in many ways. After visiting HERITAGE KOREA 2019 in Gyeongju, we went to Busan. Actually, Dipa and Nazym went into Sea for the first time in their lives. We were planned to visit places as many as we can though, because of the typhoon, we had to finished up the schedule early under pouring rain.

Last week, ICHCAP organized the 2019 World Forum for Intangible Cultural Heritage. Hoa from ICHCAP and Tsetsenbileg from CHF participated as panelists and introduced what they have done and delivered the insightful messages. Now, we are planning to hold workshop collaborating with CHF only for the CPIs. This might be the chance to enhance their knowledge regarding Korean ICH policies and practices.

QUESTION 04

What do the CPI participants expect the most or want to achieve as a long-term goal?

Iterated, through this CPI program, not only ICHCAP but also CPI participants would like to build a long-term network to share information based on each specialty. As an operating organization, ICHCAP tries to offer diverse experiences as many as we can, in return, participants learn as much as they can by comparing their background through hands-on experience, field school, forums, workshops, etc. This will be the point participants expect the most.

QUESTION 05

ICHCAP has been participating in the CPI program for several years. What is the most influential outcome of ICHCAP?

ICHCAP’s two main functions are sharing information and building network. ICHCAP has run CPI Program for several years and what the significant outcome is definitely enlarged network in Asia-Pacific Region. Of course, by running the project, we build the new or continue the relationship, though, CPI program has different meaning since selected participants are staying with us for 5 months together. There is a word “식구(Sik-ku).” In Korean, it means that word itself, ‘the group of people who eat together.’ Former, current CPI participants are not just simple participants, but are real 식구 of ICHCAP. As a partner, as a liaison, as a contributor, ICHCAP has CPI network in Asia-Pacific region.
