Chungbuk People’s Art Federation in KOREA

2018 CPI Farewell Party

A Feast of World Music, "Together Further"

CPI program, which carried out its fourteenth program this year, has announced that it made great accomplishments thanks to the active participation of many CPI participants and collaborating organizations. This year's 5-month training enabled cultural experts from 25 countries to acquire a profound understanding of Korea's systems related to art and culture through exchanges with Korean cultural and artistic creators and researchers. The CPI program also provided them with the opportunity to enhance their expertise in arts and culture field.

Particularly, this year's program was much more meaningful as it included the "Long-term Collaborative Creative Project" for promoting the achievements of mid- to long-term accomplishments.

The "Long-term Collaborative Creative Project" is pursued by CPI participants who have participated in the CPI program and collaborating organizations before under medium to long-term plan. As this year's project, the Chungbuk People's Art Federation's "Together Further" was selected.

"Together Further" involved the 18 CPI participants who participated in the CPI program in 2013, 2015, 2016, and 2018, and consisted of cultural experts from Azerbaijan, Vietnam, Bolivia, the Ivory Coast, and Mongolia. They performed their musical creative activities through collaborative workshops and published a music book based on the world's traditional music. CPI participants also held a seminar on the future of traditional music, exhibiting the potential for the future development that traditional music has and the vision for various collaborative works on it.

Especially, the concert "Asia Music Plus". which was staged at the Cheongju Arts Center on December 13 as a result of their project, attracted an enthusiastic response that defied the cold weather of a winter night. During this concert held with the Cheongju Korean Music Orchestra, CPI participants introduced their country's traditional music and presented their musical works. Korean Foundation for International Cultural Exchange, which organizes CPI program, will continue to promote the "Long-term Collaborative Creative Project" in 2019 to set an example for two-way cultural exchanges by continuously supporting CPI participants in enhancing their competencies.
